Sugar Rush

A 7x7 grid defines Sugar Rush, a high volatility video slot by Pragmatic Play that pays clusters of five or more symbols. This page explains each round.

  • RTP 96.50%
  • Volatility High
  • Maximum win multiple x5,000
  • Grid 7x7
Sugar Rush

Clearer sense of how wins form

A 7x7 grid with a Sweets theme: candy symbols fill every cell, and wins come from clusters rather than paylines. A win forms when at least 5 matching symbols connect horizontally or vertically. Each win is removed, the symbols above it fall, and new ones drop in from the top, so one spin can chain several wins. The base game is built on this cluster mechanic.

Between 3 and 7 scatters start a Free Spins round of 10 to 30 spins. Unlike the base game, Multiplier Spots keep accumulating through the whole round, doubling with each repeat hit up to x128. The credit balance stays frozen until the round-total screen. Retriggers add spins using the same scatter table.

Sugar Rush gameplay

Know what happens before the reels stop

After reading this block you will have followed one round from bet to bonus.

  1. Sugar Rush bets from A$0.20

Before the first spin, you set a bet from A$0.20 up to A$240. Every win is calculated from that stake, so the same symbols pay more on a larger bet.

  2. How many joined symbols pay?

A win needs five or more matching symbols joined horizontally or vertically. Tumble removes the winning symbols, the rest fall, and new ones refill until no new win forms.

  3. Count the Scatter symbols

Tumble repeats on every base game spin until no new win forms. Multiplier Spots reset to empty when that spin's tumble sequence ends.

  4. Scatter count decides length

Three or more Scatter symbols start Free Spins, and the scatter count sets how many spins you get. Your CREDIT balance stays frozen until the round-total screen appears.

  5. Session limit and helpline

Set a session limit before the first spin, because no one can know how a session will end. The National Gambling Helpline is 1800 858 858.

Bonus rules

From base game to free spins, what changes

Before the bonus starts, the worry is how it begins and how many spins it gives.

Free Spins: three scatters or seven

Three to seven scatters start the round: 3 give 10 spins, 4 give 12, 5 give 15, 6 give 20, 7 give 30 spins. Retriggers use the same table; Multiplier Spots keep building across the round. Repeat hits double them up to x128. Credit stays frozen until the round-total screen.

Learn how the base game pays

The base game uses a fixed 7x7 grid. Five or more matching symbols joined horizontally or vertically pay. Tumble is always active: winning symbols vanish, the rest fall, and new symbols refill until no new win.

How often will Sugar Rush trigger its bonus?

3 to 7 scatters on the 7x7 grid trigger the Free Spins, but how often a round lands is not known in advance. A session of spins is random whatever the RTP of 96.50 says, because the RTP is a long-run average over many spins and gives no forecast for one session. Nobody can predict the next bonus from the spins before it.

4 versions of the series carry different RTP figures, and the version running on this site is shown only in the game rules. The name Sugar Rush does not say which version is live, so the rules are the only place to check it before the first spin. Games sharing a name can run different RTP figures.

x5,000 times the bet is the maximum win of Sugar Rush, a ceiling reached very rarely. A higher bet raises the money value of that multiple, not the odds of reaching it. No session can be planned around the top prize.

Know the game

Know the trigger, the RTP and the versions

You will have checked the trigger, volatility and RTP of Sugar Rush before you spin.

What sets the original Sugar Rush apart from its newer versions?

The original Sugar Rush shares its maximum win and RTP with Sugar Rush Xmas. Sugar Rush 1000 and Sugar Rush Super Scatter both allow a higher maximum win. Super Scatter also has the highest RTP in the series.

How volatile is Sugar Rush, and what does high volatility mean?

Sugar Rush has high volatility. That means wins come less often but can be larger, and a single spin can pay far more than the stake. Results across sessions vary widely, and no one can predict when a large win will land.

How many scatters start the Sugar Rush free spins?

Three to seven SCATTER symbols start the free spins. The more scatters land, the more spins you receive, from 10 up to 30. Any retrigger during the round follows the same table.

What does the RTP of Sugar Rush mean for your money?

RTP is the share of staked money the game returns to players over a very long run. It says nothing about any single session, which can end well below or above the stake. The versions table below shows each RTP in money.
